Ellesmere Port S.K.C.

Shotokan Karate

Club History

Ellesmere Port Shotokan Karate Club was established over 40 years ago by Sensei Eddie Taft.  Sensei Taft was chief instructor at the club up until 2002 when ill health forced his retirement.

Eddie although dogged by some severe health problems over many years  never let them stand in his way, reaching the status of 3rd Dan black belt before his retirement at the age of 70. His leadership and enthusiasm inspired all those he taught and trained with. His ethos of self-discipline, hard work and a "never give up" attitude is still maintained at the club today.
